A WOMAN has climbed a Himalayan mountain to celebrate a forgotten female climber.
Leadership consultant Dr Rona Mackenzie joined an all-woman team of 15 to reach the summit of Yala Peak in Nepal.
The trip was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first female ascent of Mount Everest by Japanese climber Junko Tabei, inset above.
By following in Tabei's footsteps on Yala Peak in Nepal's Langtang Valley, the British team shined a spotlight on her achievements to inspire others to reach their own 'Everests' - whatever they may be.
