Skydive daredevils put charity in the pink after mum's cancer support
The Sentinel
|September 01, 2025
A DAREDEVIL brother and sister jumped out of a plane as a fundraising campaign collected nearly £10,000 for the charity that gave their mum 'vital' support after she was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer.
Natalie Taylor and Luke Shuker wanted to thank Pink Sisters & Misters for helping their mum Debra Shuker following her diagnosis in August last year.
Doctors told Debra she had a bad back after suffering pain for 'months and months'. But when a chest infection caused the 59-year-old co-owner of Shuker's Farm Shop, in Weston Coyney, to 'turn yellow,' subsequent blood tests revealed she actually had an incurable cancer.
Natalie who owns Bobby's Ice Cream Parlour, near Werrington, said the revelation was 'heartbreaking'. But Pink Sisters & Misters helped the family pull through the ordeal. Debra's condition has since stabilised.
Natalie, aged 32, said: "She's been doing really well. She's in remission now, she’s a lot better. She finished her last round of chemotherapy injections last week and since then she’s really shot back to her old self.
