Probe after death of man who 'locked himself inside house'

POLICE are being investigated over the death of a young man who was found inside a Stoke-on-Trent home after armed officers were sent to the street.

Emergency services were sent to Cope’s Avenue in Tunstall in the early hours of Saturday to reports of a man with a ‘large bladed weapon’

Officers spoke to the man who then locked himself inside a house. After forcing entry, a man in his 20s was found to be unresponsive. Despite their best efforts, he was confirmed dead at the scene.
