Man left ex fearing for her life as he 'put fist into her throat'

JEALOUS bully Daniel Wheat strangled his ex-partner after dragging her to the floor in her own home.

The 42-year-old squeezed his fist into his victim's windpipe and she believed he was going to kill her. Earlier on the same day he prevented her going into a shop and grabbed her arm leaving her with bruising. And he threatened to smash windows at her home.

After subjecting his victim to the terrifying attack he 'had the brass neck' to tell her she deserved it. Now Wheat has been jailed for 27 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Prosecutor David Bennett said the defendant had been in a relationship with his victim and they have a child together. But on the day of the offences he was on bail with conditions not to contact her and was subject to a Domestic Violence Prevention Order (DVPO).
