TENNIS Talented tennis players from low-income households in the UK will be supported in their path to the professional game by a new funding programme.

The Lawn Tennis Association Tennis Foundation, the governing body's official charity, is launching a 'Levelling the Court' fund to help young players who would otherwise struggle with the cost of the sport.

An initial investment of £100,000 includes grants of up to £2,500 for 10-14-year-olds who are already on the LTA's player pathway, while the fund will also support initiatives that identify and develop talent from underserved communities.
