Keighran embraces Cup final importance

RUGBY LEAGUE Adam Keighran is intent on making up for lost time when he makes his belated Wembley bow in tomorrow's Betfred Challenge Cup final between Wigan and Hull KR.

The magnitude of the showpiece event was lost on Keighran when he arrived at Catalans from his native Australia in 2023, and it was only after his subsequent switch to the north west that its importance finally dawned.

The 29-year-old’s hopes of making his debut at the stadium were dashed in 2024 when he picked up a suspension one week before the final, and was forced to watch from the sidelines as his side eased to an 18-8 win over Warrington.

“I probably didn't understand the hype around it until I came here,” said Keighran.
