Fresh backing for River Trent heritage group

COUNCIL leaders have agreed to join a partnership aiming to enhance the River Trent in North Staffordshire.

The Transforming the Trent Headwaters (TTTH) partnership will work to restore and improve the natural environment and cultural heritage of the river's upper reaches, from its source at Biddulph Moor to Trentham.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has now agreed to join the National Lottery-funded project, which is being led by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. TTTH follows a similar project called Transforming the Trent Valley, which focused on a stretch of the river in the east of Staffordshire.
