First-half blitz sets up emphatic victory for Prem leaders Social

BACK OF THE NET: Theo Stair was among the scorers in FC Hanley's easy weekend success.

Brereton were 5-0 up at halftime and although James Wain did pull a goal back for Dale, Social added a further strike to complete an emphatic success.

The prolific Max Marshall bagged a brace while Cameron Jackson, Jake Cartwright, Kieron Cliff and Sam Mellor were on target.

Rob Whelan’s Madeley White Star currently occupy second position after they eased out visitors Ashbourne 2-1 at Manor Road.

Former Milton United and Rocester midfielder Izaak Walsh netted for the travelling Shrovetiders, but goals from Logan Westwick (62) and substitute Jamie Harley (75) secured the points for the hosts.

Matt Rogalski’s Wolstanton United had to come from behind to finally defeat Dave Ottley’s plucky Milton United outfit 2-1 when the sides clashed at the Bradwell Community Centre.

A 35th-minute goal from Milton's Jensen Adams raced them into the lead, but second-half strikes from Rich Smith and Louis Mercieca made sure the points were secured for the hosts.

Cannock Dynamos were 2-1 home victors over AFC Norton.

Jack Turnock had pounced on a defensive mix-up to give the visitors a 14th-minute lead.

Dynamos were reduced to only a few half-chances in the first period, but a change in midfield gave the hosts a new lease of life.

From being overrun, the Cannock side played a superb through-ball that was latched on to by Lewis Keeling who cooly fired past Toby Meakin in the 58th minute.

From that moment, the whole complexion of the game changed with both sides having good chances with Jack Turnock twice failing to convert at the back post.

Just as added time was about to run out, Ed Page stooped low to glance a header high into the back of the AFC Norton net.
