Loved ones told to raise concerns over care with hospital after inquest scrapped

AN inquest into the death of a biker killed in a crash will no longer take place - leaving his family with unanswered questions.

Martyn Ball, aged 30, tragically died after being knocked off his motorcycle by a van being driven by workmate, Carl Sargeant.

Sargeant, 45, was found guilty of causing death by careless driving following a trial in December last year and was handed a suspended prison sentence.

Martyn’s inquest had previously been opened and adjourned due to the criminal proceedings.

However, his family say that they believe Martyn would have recovered from his injuries if his treatment at the Intensive Treatment Centre (ITU) whilst at the Royal Stoke University Hospital had been ‘better’
