Vulernerable residents urged to grab a covid jab

VULNERABLE people in North Staffordshire are being urged to have their spring covid vaccinations as cases across the county have more than doubled since January this year.

The number of hospital patients in England testing positive increased by 7% in the week to April 6, as the 'positivity rate' rose from 4.2% to 4.5%, according to the latest figures from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). This compares to a positivity rate of just 2.2% in early January, when covid hit its lowest level for at least two years where around one in every 330 people were infected.
