Could Rowett make quick return to management with Leicester?

FORMER Stoke City manager Gary Rowett and long-ago Stoke coach Nigel Pearson are among the names on Leicester City watchers' wish lists to replace Marti Cifuentes, as well as an unlikely attempt to lure Mark Robins.
IN THE FRAME: Gary Rowett and, inset, Nigel Pearson, have been tipped to be the next Leicester City boss.
Caretaker boss Andy King has been installed as early bookies' favourite for the latest vacancy in the Championship after Cifuentes was sacked on Sunday afternoon in the wake of a home defeat to Oxford United.
Russell Martin, Lee Carsley, Gary O'Neil and Steven Gerrard are next shortest odds at a club which is looking for its sixth boss since Brendan Rodgers left in the spring of 2023.
Enzo Maresca has won a promotion in that time before being taken away by Chelsea but none of Dean Smith, Steve Cooper, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cifuentes has lasted more than 31 games.
