On Friday, soldiers went out on a 10km march armed with survival gear for an immersive overnight combat experience.

Troops had to rely on their rations and their wits, while seeking to eliminate enemy squads in the Croatian woodlands.

After a couple of gruelling days of immersive battle training out in the sticks, British and Croatian troops alike returned to camp.

The final day was all about camaraderie, with soldiers exchanging stories over a huge BBQ feast.

Overseeing British operations in Croatia was Colonel Andrew Lawson, a seasoned veteran who has served in the military for 25 years.

He has completed tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Bosnia over the course of his lengthy service.

Colonel Lawson, left, said: "This is an opportunity for our reservist soldiers to work alongside our Croatian allies.
