Carr's 5-wicket haul sparks merciless rout of Sandbach

JACKSON Carr's five-star performance set Checkley thirds on their way to victory over Sandbach seconds in NSSCL Division Seven.

New-ball bowler Carr claimed 5-8 to instigate Sandbach's downfall to 41 all out in Saturday's encounter.

Checkley lost five wickets in knocking off the runs - Richard Cotton picking up 4-16 - but Jack Lewis's 24 saw the home side over the line.

Congleton seconds romped to a 10-wicket triumph at home against Betley.

Betley managed to make their way to 130-7 in the first half of the contest.

S Sanghvi top-scored with 43, with N Nixon chipping in with an unbeaten 31.

D Woodburn-Ricketts and W Nightingale captured a couple of wickets apiece for the hosts.

Congleton then cruised to the winning line in just 14 overs - as openers J Bates and S Prime both compiled half-centuries.
