BARLASTON waltzed into the semi-finals of the Pinfold Trophy with a 10-wicket victory over Knypersley.

- Chris Travers

Hosts Barlaston were set 160 to book a last-four berth - and didn’t lose a wicket in easing to their target.

Charlie Fisher compiled an unbeaten 80, which included six fours and two sixes, with fellow opener William Betteley hitting five boundaries in his 62 not out.

Earlier in the day, Knypersley had reached 159-8 from their allotted 35 overs.

Liam Hogan (45), Dominic Cumberbatch (32) and Jack Muni (23) made the biggest impressions with the bat.

Jack Davies (4-13) fronted the Barlaston bowling bid, with Fisher and Theo Whimpanny sharing four wickets.

Bignall End are also through after winning by two wickets at home against Alsager A.

Visitors Alsager A were limited to 116 all out in the formative stages of the contest as Ali Shah, Junaid Ahmad, Umair Dar and Asad Arif all claimed two wickets.

Mohammed Razaq top-scored for Alsager with an unbeaten 26, with Hassan Jamil adding 14.

Bignall End collapsed from 59-2 to 73-8, despite Sarmad Mir contributing 40.

Adil Javed’s 3-31, plus double strikes from Waqas Hussain and Ateeq Ur Rehman left Alsager seemingly on course for the win.

However, Ahsam Zaroof (36no) and Khalid Mehmood (10no) joined forces to ensure it was Bignall End who advanced.

Cheadle made home advantage count to see off the challenge of Longton.

Sam Cliffe orchestrated Cheadle's progress to 181-9 from their 35 overs.

Cliffe made 88, which contained 14 fours, while Adam Ahmed and Antonio Alles scooped two wickets apiece.

Abdul Basit and Thomas Mack weighed in with 45 and 23 respectively for Longton in their run chase.

But Matthew Degg captured 3-26 to leave Longton agonisingly short on 169 all out.

Moddershall & Oulton Sport Asia are through to the semi-finals after beating Little Stoke A. Arjun Annamalai (47) and Liaqat Khan (33) were instrumental in the Modd men putting 177 all out on the board.
