“OLD age is an asset, not a burden,” said Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati while inaugurating the National Annual Midterm Conference of the Geriatric Society of India 2025 at Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar, on Saturday.
Calling for a compassionate and inclusive approach to elderly care, the Governor emphasized the need to build a society where senior citizens are treated with dignity, respect, and care. “Elderly citizens who have contributed immensely to their families and society must not be allowed to face neglect, isolation, or abuse. This is not only a social concern but a moral challenge,” he said.
