Health Dept ramps up preparations for Puri's grand Car Festival 2025

AS the countdown to the grand Car Festival 2025 in Puri begins, the Health and Family Welfare Department is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and well-being of the thousands of pilgrims and tourists expected to visit the holy city.

In a high-level review meeting held on Saturday, Secretary Aswathy S spearheaded the preparations, directing senior health officials to implement a comprehensive healthcare strategy to cater to the needs of sevayats, pilgrims, and tourists from June 26, the start of Nabajauban Darshan, through to July 8, when the Niladribije ceremony concludes.

The review meeting focused on several critical areas, including the enhancement of local healthcare infrastructure, the establishment of first aid centers, and the deployment of additional medical teams and ambulance services across Puri district.

Secretary Aswathy emphasized the importance of having all arrangements in place well before the start of the festival. "The required services and facilities, along with the necessary manpower, must be deployed well in advance," she said.
