Coordinated efforts key to tobacco-free future: Health Secretary Aswasthy

"ACHIEVING a tobacco-free future requires coordinated efforts at all levels," said Odisha's Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Aswasthy S, while chairing the state-level observance of World No Tobacco Day 2025 here on Saturday.

Organised under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), the event reflected the State Government's strong commitment to curbing tobacco use and promoting public health through collective action across departments and communities.

The observance placed a strong emphasis on interdepartmental coordination and public engagement as vital strategies for reducing tobacco consumption and achieving a tobacco-free society.

In a symbolic and participatory move, a signature campaign was launched on the occasion, inviting citizens across Odisha to pledge their support for a tobacco-free future.
