THE NATIONAL EXPORT CONGRESS 2024: EXPORTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Philippine exporters are front and center this week for the annual National Exporters Week (NEW).

The event catalyzes national commitment to and support for the export industry. Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry–Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) and the Export Development Council (EDC), with support from the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT), NEW annually gathers leaders and stakeholders in the export industry.

This year, from December 2 to 6, NEW follows the theme “Sustainability: Shaping the Future of Philippine Exports.” It affirms the importance of using sustainable materials and production methods, ethical sourcing, cost-effective strategies, and responsible supply chains to ensure exporters’ longterm competitiveness. The theme also underscores the event’s main goal, which is to transform the Philippines into Southeast Asia’s hub for smart and sustainable manufacturing and services.
