ROCHELLE AND SUNSHINE ON SEXBOMB'S HEYDAY, SISTERHOOD AND REUNION

Rochelle Pangilinan and Sunshine Garcia didn't expect that many people would want to see their all-girl group singing and dancing on stage. The SexBomb girls are coming together on Dec. 4 at the Araneta Coliseum for 'Get Get Aw! The SexBomb Concert,' under the direction of John Prats. The SexBomb OG members reunite on GMA 7's 'Family Feud' ahead of their concert.

Until now, Rochelle and Sunshine have been clueless about how Joy would discover their misdemeanor the next day. They surmised that their manager had a tracker at the time.

But did you know that the girl group had other names before they became famous?

According to Rochelle, she started as one of the four in-house dancers of “Eat Bulaga.” They were initially called Chicken Sandwich Dancers, and later, they were also referred to as the Salaguinto Dancers by some.

Joey de Leon coined the name SexBomb Girls after they danced to Tom Jones’ hit song SexBomb, which was also the background music for the “Eat Bulaga” segment “Laban o Bawi.” Sunshine, on the other hand, became part of the group after Joy spotted her on “TV Babe,” the show’s beauty contest.

But, as they say, nothing lasts forever. Their sudden departure from “Eat Bulaga” was a mystery to many. Speculations were plenty, yet no one dared to find out the reason why SexBomb bade the show goodbye.

Rochelle shared that there was a misunderstanding between the management of “Eat Bulaga” and Joy. “So, kami s'yempre nakikinig lang sa kanila kaya parang bigla na lang unti-unti hindi kami sumisipot sa ‘Eat Bulaga.’”

“We were confused when we were told not to go to ‘Eat Bulaga’ because they had a problem. On our part, we couldn’t decide if we were going to be professional or be blinded by our emotions because we understood the point of Ate Joy.”
