PNP exec uses sex videos for blackmail

A police colonel is facing criminal cases after he allegedly documented his sexual encounters with a woman with whom he had an illicit affair for several years and later used the videos to blackmail the victim when she wanted to end their relationship.

One of the videos was sent to the woman’s husband and daughter.

The 52-year-old police official was charged with psychological abuse under Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Law, grave coercion, intriguing against honor and unjust vexation before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office.

He was also charged with violating provisions of RA 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act; RA 11313, the Safe Spaces Law; RA 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act, and RA 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Law.

He was relieved from his post in the Philippine National Police and is on floating status. His name was also not included in the list of key officials in the PNP as of this month.

The cases are currently undergoing preliminary investigation before the office of the city prosecutor.

Taking advantage

In her complaint, the woman said she first met the official on Facebook in December 2020 when the latter sent a friend request that she accepted.
