PH'S DREAM FOOD PROGRAM GETS REAL

A world full of convention and free market exchange sometimes neglects real services and programs actually designed to benefit the poor or those who have less in life.

PH'S DREAM FOOD PROGRAM GETS REAL

Free enterprise is all good but it's also within the hands of the government to apply creative methods to offer the most affordable goods to its people.

With the recent inflationary trend in primary commodities throughout the world, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., when he assumed office in 2022, immediately initiated a program that would institutionalize the distribution of the most important commodity for Pinoys—food items.

Thus came the creation, or iteration, of the program that has come to be known as Kadiwa.

An economist at heart, President Marcos imagined a system where the fruits of a farmer's labor directly reach the plates of the Filipino family, without the usual encumbrance of middle men marking up prices.

The President envisioned small business owners having a thriving market for their products, right in the heart of the communities they serve.

In a nation where food insecurity and poverty are long-standing challenges, this vision is more than just a dream—it has become a reality through the President's creative policy management.

By creating direct connections between local farmers and consumers, President Marcos' food program has transformed the common food distribution mechanism in the country.

It's not just about buying and selling. It's about empowering communities, reinvigorating local economies, and making food more affordable for everyone.

imageAt the heart of this effort is President Marcos' Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) program, a direct marketing platform designed to bridge the gap between farm producers and small business owners.
