Lawmaker seeks creation of regional body

Solid North party-list Rep. Menchie Bernos is pushing for the creation of the Northern Luzon Development Authority (NLDA), a long-term regional body that will coordinate development efforts in the Cordillera, Ilocos and Cagayan Valley regions.
BAGUIO CITY —
In House Bill 3109, Bernos aims to address the region's fragmented governance, limited infrastructure and uneven growth by institutionalizing a development framework centered on tourism.
