Lakas-CMD backs BBM amid corruption scandal

Stalwarts of the Lakas-CMD - the country’s dominant political party - have thrown their “full and unwavering support” behind the administration of President Marcos, who is being battered by allegations of corruption in flood control projects and in the preparation of the national budget.

“Accusations linked to alleged budget insertions and ongoing flood-control investigations must be settled through evidence, not political theater,” the Lakas-CMD said in a manifesto.

Lakas-CMD, which has more than 100 members in the House of Representatives, is headed by former speaker Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.

“We will never falter. The support of Lakas-CMD for President Marcos is solid in deed and not just in words,” party leaders stressed in Filipino as they blamed “rumor, kuwentong kutsero, in budget, flood-control controversy.”
