Hot Days, Afternoon Rains Expected

With Tropical Storm Tapah moving farther away from the country, the easterlies have emerged as the prevailing weather system, bringing hot, humid conditions and localized rains across much of the Philippines, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA said the monsoon break is underway as the southwest monsoon or habagat is no longer affecting any part of the country.

In its place, the easterlies—warm winds from the Pacific—are expected to influence weather patterns in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the coming days.
