Cignal swooped down on Strong Group Athletics and hammered out a quick, unforgiving 25-7, 2516, 25-16 victory yesterday that propelled it back inside the magic four in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
Vanessa Gandler continued her ascension as one of the league’s top guns as she powered through a match-best 16 points including 14 on spikes while former league MVP Ces Molina dropped 14 hits as the HD Spikers improved to 4-1.
It was enough to catapult the MVP Group of Companies-owned franchise back in the top four after slipping out following a painful 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 defeat at the hands of Sisi Rondina and the soaring Choco Mucho Flying Titans Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.
