MART champions innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability in the country's evolving financial landscape

- By KATHERINE L. MAGSANOC

For over half a century, the Money Market Association of the Philippines (MART) has stood at the heart of the country’s financial ecosystem — bridging institutions, guiding reforms, and nurturing talent to help build a more robust, transparent, and dynamic capital market.

As MART marks its 54th anniversary, President Justin Robert Ladaban reflects on the association’s journey and its vision to “lead the evolution in invigorating the capital markets” — a mission that has never been more relevant amid global economic transitions and rapid technological change.

Collaboration and professionalization

Since its founding, MART has worked closely with industry stakeholders and regulators such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to strengthen market practices and raise professional standards.

“MART has consistently worked with our members and regulators toward the growth and professionalization of financial markets,” Ladaban shares.

“We've resumed our continuing education seminars, provided market insights to regulators, and even launched initiatives like the MART x CFA Cup, now on its fourth season, to nurture future treasury professionals.”
