GSI hosts workshop on landslide challenges and mitigation measures

The Geological Survey of India (GSI), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh unit, organized a one-day workshop on "Landslide Challenges and Mitigation Measures in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh" on Friday in Jammu.
The workshop aimed to address the increasing frequency and impact of landslides in the region, which is characterized by complex geological structures and vulnerable climatic conditions. The workshop highlighted that landslides pose significant threats to life, infrastructure and ecological balance that need a coordinated response and strategic planning on the part of different stakeholders.
