Bali Bhagat raises concern over injustice to “Arms & Ammunition industry” in J&K

Bali Bhagat, senior BJP leader and former Minister has raised serious concern over the persistent and unjust difficulties being faced by arms and ammunition manufacturers and dealer's and in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Expressing deep anguish over the indefinite suspension of valid licenses, he said that the government's inaction is crippling a lawful industry and pushing hundreds of families into economic distress.

The former minister was speaking after interacting with a delegation of Gun Manufacturers Association headed by Its President Sanjay Sharma accompanied by Satish Sharma and Sumit Dasgotra.

The association members submitted a memorandum to the former Minister wherein the stakeholders have meticulously detailed how despite complying with all legal mandates under the Arms Rules, 2016—including timely submission of documents and obtaining Unique Identification Numbers (UINs) the Home Department and District Administration have failed to issue the necessary Form VIII licenses.

"The dealers are being penalized for administrative lapses that are no fault of theirs," they said.
