- A Scholar extraordinaire on her 2 nd Death Anniversary
Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai is one of the outstanding Sanskrit scholars, a renowned social worker and a prominent citizen of Jammu Kashmir was born on 16th November 1931 at Pratap Garh Mohalla of Jammu and she did her schooling at the Arya Samaj School in Jammu where her mother was the Principal. She was M.A. in Sanskrit and Ancient Indian History and Culture. She has done Diploma Course in German and Ph.D. in Sanskrit.
She has been a very progressive child from early days and took to writing poems and taking part in cultural activities. A recipient of many awards a gold medal each from Punjab University and J & K Government, Sharad Samman, Sanskrit Samman and a Certificate of honour from the President. She also got two awards from Sanskrit Academy U.P. She has been a creative thinker, writer who has authored eleven books. In addition, she has more than hundred publications to her credit.
