DCC seeks clarity on satcom spectrum pricing

THE Digital Communications Commission (DCC), highest policy-making body of Department of Telecommunications, has decided to seek clarifications from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on the pricing issue of satellite spectrum recommended by TRAI in May 2025.

As per official sources, the DCC, in its meeting held on Tuesday, expressed disagreement with two recommendations made by TRAI that include a proposed annual fee of ₹500 per urban subscriber, and spectrum charge of ₹3,500 per MHz. TRAI will have to clarify these recommendations i
