White House clarifies that revised fee not applicable on renewals

HOURS after US President Donald Trump signed a proclamation imposing a $100,000 fee on H-1B visa holders-up from the earlier range of $2,500-$5,000the White House backtracked and issued a clarification, stating that this is a one-time fee applicable only to new entrants.
The US administration also clarified that the revised fee is not applicable on renewals or current visa holders.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a post on X, said: "This is not an annual fee.
