TENSION prevailed at a government higher secondary school in Villupuram municipal limits on Monday after parents and students staged a protest against the school administration for the arrest of a part-time Physical Education teacher on sexual harassment charges.

The accused, identified as K Sivabalan from Panampattu, was employed as a part-time PE instructor at the school. According to reports, more than five elementary class students had complained to headmistress Gnanavadivambal that the teacher engaged in inappropriate physical contact during sports sessions.
