As Punjab and Himachal Pradesh grapple with devastating floods, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the states on September 9 to take stock of the situation.

- HARPREET BAJWA @Chandigarh

The Punjab government has estimated a loss of ₹13,289 crore due to the floods that have ravaged the state.

In Himachal Pradesh, Modi will visit Kangra and is likely to conduct an aerial survey to take stock of the situation and hold a meeting, said a state BJP leader.

Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar said that the Prime Minister is deeply concerned about the flood situation and is closely monitoring it. "He is visiting Punjab on September 9 to personally assess the local conditions and understand the ground realities to provide maximum assistance to the people of the state."
