Gold hits $2,930/ounce; crosses ₹88k mark in Delhi

THE gold spot price shot past the $2930 mark earlier in the day on Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as the demand for the yellow metal soared after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports into the US.
In the domestic market, this price will only reflect on Tuesday. Yet investors and traders jacked up prices on Monday with the price in Delhi touching ₹88,080/10g in the evening, while Mumbai trending at ₹87,990, up from 87,300 on Saturday.
