BJP, Cong spar over ‘injustice to Patidar woman’

A political slugfest intensified in Gujarat after former Congress MLA Pratap Dudhat alleged that a Patidar woman was falsely branded a criminal, arrested at midnight, and paraded publicly.
The row began after a fake letter targeted BJP MLA from Amreli Kaushik Vekaria. The letter, which went viral on social media, falsely accused Vekaria of accepting bribes for sand and liquor smuggling. It was written using a fake letterhead of Amreli taluka panchayat president Kishore Kanpariya and carried a forged signature. The allegations caused an uproar within the Amreli BJP. In a show of support, around 100 leaders and Vekaria's supporters escalated the matter to Gujarat BJP
