MINISTER for Municipal Administration KN Nehru released water from Manimuthar and Vadakku Pachaiyar reservoirs for the Pisanam season irrigation in the presence of Assembly Speaker M Appavu, District Collector Dr KP Karthikeyan and Tirunelveli MP C Robert Bruce here on Monday.
In a statement, the district administration said the water release from Manimuthar Dam will benefit 12,018 acres of indirect irrigation land in the third and fourth reaches for 99 days depending on the storage and inflow.
