MADHYA Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda on Wednesday presented a ₹4.21 lakh crore-plus budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This marks the second state budget from the BJP, under the leadership of Mohan Yadav, following 15 months in office.
The total outlay is 15% higher than the previous budget of 3.65 lakh crore. The FM did not propose any new taxes or raise rates of existing taxes.
Focusing on industry, infrastructure, and agriculture, as well as women's, youth's, poor, tribal's, and unprivileged sections' welfare, the budget proposes insurance and pension cover for the 1.27 crore women beneficiaries of the CM Ladli Behna Scheme, which emerged as the game-changer for the BJP in the 2023 Assembly polls.
