IN this decade, Bajrang Punia was the last male freestyle wrestler from India to win a medal at the senior World Championships.
Now a Congress party leader and away from the sport, the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist had finished third in the 65kg category in the 2022 edition and remains the most successful Indian wrestler in the tournament with four medals—three bronze and one silver.
