CHESS is also set to have another world champion. On Wednesday, Norway Chess, in a landmark announcement, have said that they will have a new tour, titled Total Chess World Championship Tour, from 2027. A dry run will be in effect in 2026 before the lights turn green from 2027. A look ...

What's this new tour?

An event backed by FIDE, the new Tour will comprise of three different disciplines. Fast Classic, Rapid and Blitz. The time control in Fast Classic is yet to be decided but it will be way lesser than normal classic time controls. There will be four events every year with the winner crowned after the end of the fourth event. It's expected to be held in four cities, with at least one event slated to be held in Norway every year.

Don't FIDE have any problem with the name?
