THE Election Commission has asked district magistrates (DMs) in West Bengal to report the number of enumeration forms (EFs) marked as absent, shifted, dead, and duplicate (ASDD) Assembly-wise.

- SUBHENDU MAITI @ Kolkata

A large number of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in West Bengal have failed to properly mark the form despite lapse of considerable period. The EC has learnt about the irregularities in connection with alleged reluctance of many BLOs, who are not regularly marking EFs as ASDD even after they identify cases like ‘absent’, ‘shifted’, ‘dead’ and ‘duplicate’ voters, during their door-to-door visits for the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.
