At Polavaram project, 6.5 lakh cusecs discharged as water level reaches 31 metre
The water level in the River Godavari continued to rise on Monday with heavy inflows from upper catchment areas in Odisha, Telangana and Maharashtra, prompting officials to sound alerts in low-lying areas of Eluru, East Godavari, West Godavari and Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) districts.
At Polavaram project, the water level reached 31 metres with 6.5 lakh cusecs discharged downstream into Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage and later into the sea.
