SC Set to Take Up Sharda University, IIT-Kharagpur Student Suicide Cases Today

The Supreme Court is set to hear on Monday the suo motu cognisance (SMC) proceedings in the recent student suicide deaths at IIT Kharagpur and Sharda University in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida.
A two-judge bench comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan had, on July 21, before taking the matter on a suo motu basis, directed both institutions to submit their responses regarding the incidents.
The SC had appointed senior advocate Aparna Bhatt as amicus curiae and asked Bhatt to provide detailed information in the matter.
