NANJAPPA Hospitals successfully utilised advanced capsule endoscopy to diagnose and treat a rare case of angiodysplasias causing small intestinal bleeding, demonstrating the hospital's expertise in managing complex medical emergencies with cutting-edge technology.
Nanjappa Hospitals stated that the patient, Narayana (name changed), a 62-year-old male, presented with generalised weakness, easy fatigability, and intermittent black-coloured stools for 4-5 days. He was previously diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and had undergone gastrojejunostomy for peptic ulcer disease. His condition was further complicated by severe anaemia (haemoglobin level of 4 gm/dl) and low albumin levels.
