DCC bank fraud: HC finds no illegalities in arrest of ex-chairman

THE Karnataka High Court dismissed the petition filed by R M Manjunath Gowda, former chairman of the District Central Cooperative Bank in Shivamogga, and his wife Asha H C, questioning the arrest order, arrest memo, grounds of arrest and reasons depicted by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) that they were in possession of proceeds of crime.

"The case at hand is a mirror held up to systematic corruption. Upon meticulous consideration of facts, the elucidation of law by the apex court and the corpus of the material on record, the court finds no infirmity that would warrant interference," said Justice M Nagaprasanna while dismissing the petition filed by them.
