Crop Compensation Given Illegally to Beneficiaries

REVENUE department officials of Chitradurga district have caused losses to the tune of Rs 42.99 crore by giving crop compensation illegally to 42,958 beneficiaries, said Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda at the state assembly on Tuesday.
Replying to a 'calling attention motion' by Challakere MLA and chairman of KSSIDC, T Raghumurthy, in the house, the minister said that 42,958 beneficiaries were given compensation of Rs 42.99 crore illegally causing loss to the state exchequer. Two hundred and one officials of the Revenue Department are directly responsible for this illegal act and it has been cited in the report received by the go
