TN norms for real money games, HC refuses relief to gaming firms

THE Madras High Court on Wednesday refused to pass any interim orders on the petitions filed by a few online gaming platforms challenging the new regulations introduced by Tamil Nadu Online Gaming Authority (TNOGA) to restrict and regulate the use of real money games (RMGs) which include prohibiting their usage from 12 am to 5 am.
A division bench of Justices S M Subramaniam and K Rajasekar, however, directed the central and the Tamil Nadu governments to file their replies to the petitions in two weeks, and adjourned the hearing.
