Woman assaulted for refusing religious conversion; nine booked

RAVIKIRAN, a resident of Palahalli, has lodged a police complaint against his brother-in-law and other family members for allegedly assaulting his sister and their family after she refused to convert to Christianity.
According to the complaint, Ravikiran's sister Lakshmi was married to Srikanth of Palahalli 15 years ago as per Hindu tradition. Srikanth, along with his two sons, mother Krishnaveni, and elder brothers Harish and Prashanth, converted to Christianity. Srikanth is now known as John and Krishnaveni as Mary.
