V-C Preaches Unity After Depts Erect Fences Around Buildings

These fences preventing students from walking freely on campus

IN an effort to bring coordination among various departments on the Manasagangotri campus of University of Mysore, Vice-chancellor N K Lokanath has stopped erection of metal fences around the department buildings. This action has come after several departments had erected metal fences around their respective departments over the years.

The university's Manasagangotri campus, spread around 740 acres of lush green land, was given the name by Rashtrakavi Kuvempu who preached the Vishwamanava concept (Universal Human). Ironically, much against his message, over the years metal fences were erected around some of the departments from university funds due to ego clashes between the department heads.
