Officials of Urban Development Dept, dist admin start ground work
THE much-awaited demand for the Greater Mysuru City Corporation (GMCC) will soon become a reality as officials of the Urban Development Department and the district administration have started working in this regard.
Though the suggestions for the GMCC got louder during the 2018 assembly election, it did not take off as the Congress did not come to power on its own. Again the proposal has got traction with Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh chairing a meeting at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru recently.
The task of fixing boundaries, including Hootagalli City Municipal Council, Bogadi, Kadakola, Srirampura Town panchayats, Siddalingapura, Yelwal, Chamundi Hill, Ramanahalli and Alanahalli villages in the GMCC has been assigned to the officials.
