Noted writer C P Krishnakumar said 12th-century social reformer, Basavanna, worked for Sarvodaya (welfare of all), and it is important for everyone today to keep his ideals in mind.
Speaking at the 'Basavaratna' award presentation ceremony held as part of Basava Jayanti and organised by Mysuru Sharan Mandali and Mysuru Sri Nataraja Pratishthan at Hosamata here on Saturday, Krishnakumar recalled poet Kuvempu's words that one must not be arrogant while accepting an award, and it is even more arrogant to reject one.
